Access methods

Working safely at great heights

To safely and thoroughly inspect, repair, and maintain wind turbine blades, Redak uses various access methods. Depending on the situation, we choose the most efficient and safe approach—from the ground, via ropes, with aerial work platforms, or via platforms.

Rope access

Our certified specialists use advanced rope access techniques that enable direct access to the blade – without additional equipment such as aerial work platforms or platforms. Rope access is suitable for:
  • Inspections of wind turbine blades at great heights

  • Cleaning or repairs at specific locations

  • When access to the turbine is not possible with an aerial work platform or platform

Other access methods

  • Ground Access
We carry out preparatory work, visual inspections, and maintenance from the ground. This method is ideal for turbines with low hub heights or for controlling drones during inspections, without additional climbing equipment.
  • Aerial Work Platforms
For turbines where rope access is less efficient, we use aerial work platforms. These offer stability and speed for inspections, cleaning, or minor repairs up to approximately one hundred meters in height.
  • Platform
For long-term or complex work at great heights, we use blade access platforms. With our platforms, we work around the blade, for example, during detailed inspections or structural repairs, with maximum freedom of movement and safety.
